ch 709 now has a HD Showcase On Demand. It's mostly stuff from MOJO like 3 sheets and King of Miami.

I can - - - I watched a few of the music videos, and almost all of them cut off some content from either the beginning or the end!

You should report those. BHN just gets the content from a provider, and based on how much content they get, not everything is viewed.
Can you give me a few examples? I'll pass along the info to a few friends that might be able to help..

Instead of that stuff, why doesn't BHN follow its parent company Time-Warner's proposal, and have an HD on Demand channel that includes the HD VERSIONS of the Food Network, Animal Planet, History Channel, Learning Channel, and all the other great channels that already have gone now to HD?

I suppose HD On Demand of the Scripps and Discovery content will be coming soon. As for BHN and Time Warner, BHN is somewhat independent of TW and certainly not as up-to-date as TW. Most TW cable outlets already include Starz! HD and Cinemax HD but BHN is still unable/unwilling to provide these FREE add-ons for current Starz! and Cinemax subscribers.

For BH to even air the HD they have to have an agreement in place, which right now they don't. HD is a separate issue than airing ther SD channel.
DirecTV already has HD agreements in place with a majority of what you see on BH and will have the capacity for 150 HD channels very soon.
I dropped BH because of those issues and I'm happy I did. Pic is better, station availability is better and you can pick and choose what YOU want to watch as opposed of BH telling you what they want you to watch.
TW has made ESPN/ESPN2 available on HD without having to buy the premium (HDNet, etc) but BH is still trying to pull every single dollar out of the pockets of their customers keeping those stations, for the sports fan, on a tier that people don't want the other services.

Sorry it took me a while to get back to this.
Examples, all from MOJO Music:
The Editors, "All Sparks" - Video begins after the start of the song, and ends before the end of the song right in the middle of the chorus.
The Editors, "Fall" - Video ends before the end of the song.
Primal Scream, "When The Bomb Drops" - Video stops before the end of the song.
These clips are all from the London Live series of music "concerts". The cuts are just poor editing, but they are annoying nonetheless.

No worries on delays. Obviously I can't help bad editing (as mentioned at the end), but I'll pass on to a couple sources the really-screwed-up editing. (edit: Passed along a note.. might be a few days, but they'll try to get to the bottom of it)
Hate to admit ignorance (It's shocking.. but I don't own an HD tv.. and really don't watch much TV at home these days ;) ).. but is MOJO Music a known brit-entity? Primal Scream and The Editors immediately hit my brit-music triggers..
Thanks,
hank

Their own self-description, from MOJOHD.COM:
"MOJO - the new 100% hi-def channel is tailored to fit your interests from exceptional food to extreme locales, from high tech toys to high stakes antics, from Wall Street to easy street and the best of sports, music, movies and more. It's 180° from ordinary and 100% high definition, because life is how you see it."
London Live is one of their music shows, and is produced in London (of course). I think MOJO Music is just a category used on the HD On Demand channel.
I know it's a little petty to complain about poor editing in free music videos. I just think it could be done better.

No, I'm with you. My comment on bad editing is that likely they may not fix that stuff.. but if the "bad editing" you mention is breaking the content (such as the songs starting already into it, ending early, etc), that's something that folks can try to get fixed. It's a legit complaint, thus why I forwarded it along.
Hopefully the "powers that be" can get it sorted. I know folks have wanted additional HD on demand content for a while (I still remember the fact that the first theatrical [aka non-IMAX] content was that Jack Black movie about dog-poop), so I'd like to see it be as quality as possible..
As always, I can't make any promises on behalf of BHN.. but I am interested in trying to help wherever possible..

Anytime. FYI, I heard back last week from my contact, they let the provider know there were some issues. I haven't heard back if they've been corrected or not, but hopefully so. Perhaps a kick or two in the pants will up the Quality Control for this content..
As said, can't make any promises on BHN's behalf, but man, would love to help make sure any HD content going out is as quality as possible. Knowing the technology available, and seeing things like 300 on blueray in 1080p at my friend's house, makes me want to make sure Tampa Bay gets the best HD possible.. And often the problems are like you reported.. BHN gets content and hands it off, and don't know it's broken until someone reports it. Often people just complain silently thinking, "Damned <insert MSO HERE>", when it's really the provider and the MSO does not know..
(always try to let your MSO know, that's the rule of the day kids!)
(on that topic, was glad to see 300 in HD-On Demand.. need to check it out.. what a great movie.. plus it makes me remember I need to workout WAY MORE THAN 3 TIMES A WEEK... and people wonder why they hear me scream "SPARTAAA!" from my office when things are going bad..)
