First off I don't know if this would be for new customers only but since it requires a HDTV set purchase than I think it would be for existing customers as well.

I just read a post at DBS talk that Best Buy in about 600 retail stores will be doing an offer for a bundled packge which includes the following.

RCA D52W15 HDTV set which is a 52" Widescreen with DVI with HDCP.
It also comes with a DirecTV HDTV box which I would assume would be an RCA box but my brother didn't know which one. My brother did tell me about the TV. You can only get this one TV set in this bundle. It also includes installation as well. And the kicker is that the cost is only 1500 bucks.

So you get a 52" Widescreen HDTV set plus a DirecTV HDTV box and installation for this price.

Also this offer will be good between November 30 and February 28.

This right here coupled with their HDTV selection and local OTA reception would be a very good seller for DirecTV.

I have that rptv...paid $1300.00 for it so thats not all that hot a deal...Wallmart was selling it for under 1300 a few months ago when i saw it there too....You'd save a few bucks but I wouldn't recomend anyone get that model from RCA unless you absolutely can't afford an extra 200 or 300 bucks (for a better set) or make do with a smaller rptv...mine has some pretty bad picture problems caused by cheap parts from what I've read online.

Well that is something to think about. I just got a second HDTV set which was a Panasonic 53" Widescreen with DVI for a haggled price of 1350.00 and this set is very very good. I also just bought the DirecTV 400 buck deal and I did get a Sammy box. So from what you are saying is that that RCA TV just sucks right. Oh and Rexs also could give me the Panny 53" non DVI for a grand. I really haggle them but I've also spend almost 20 grand with them over my years between Home audio and video and washers and dryers and everything in between. I love having a store where I walk in and they know me and I look for what I want and ask them can you get me this as cheap as you can and they go almost cost I would sware. But I always come back to them first.
