Anyone install this in their attic? I have mine mounted on my entertainment center and CBS has issues coming in, just checking to see if height helps.

I live in South Lakeland and have this antenna outside. At the present I have it temporarily on a six foot aluminum ladder and have fine reception from the antenna farm as well as CBS 24.

I had my Terk 55 for about 8 months and then I threw it out in the garbage where it belonged. I had it mounted on a pole 40 feet of the ground.

You neglect to tell us why?

I really can't complain because I am getting all my other local stations in HD quite well. I wonder if location is key, since I live in Brandon. Circuit City told me this was their best but then again who knows if this guy knew what he was talking about. I believe in getting all the best cabling for my system but its weird there is no monster CAT 6 cable, at least not in great lengths that I have found, hmmm I wonder if that would help? ANy ideas anyone?

Oops.. Sorry..

The antenna was working fine for those months then all of a sudden ABC started flucuating in signal strength. Then the WB disappeared. A couple of days later another station disappeared. So when the third station disappeared on me I knew it was the antenna. I went out and got a real antenna, actually three of them: 2 UHF (1 just for CBS) and 1 VHF. Ever since then I have had no problems.

So having all these antenna's are they mounted on the roof? Doesn't it get cumbersome?

1) glad to have you aboard
2) as an IT manager, i'm glad you've got the budget for nice stuff - but quit throwing money away on that dang monster stuff - most places recognize it as overrated. you'll cry, but go here and do a search on "component" or "hdtv" to find some inexpensive cables.
I've ordered as late as 4:30pm and had product ups ground the next day.

Thanks for the advice. I buy it I guess for the ease of getting it right there also so the Circuit City people don't give me an excuse that when I have a problem its because I don't have pro cabling. Having the Bose system and seeing how thin their speaker cable is and the sound that comes out sounds as good if not better than a compareable system with monster cable. I realize the quality of the cable has a cutoff point where its only going to sound so much better. Basically your cable is only as good as your weakest link. I will check out your link..thanks

Yes the three antennas are mounted on the roof all on one pole. And I haven't really touched it since I installed it but once. That once was about a month ago when I realized that I installed the VHF antenna backwards. But no it doesn't get cumbersome.

Circuit City, Best Buy, whoever.... the guys there are gonna tell ya what ever they have is the best. Well, sorry to inform ya sales dudes... that just isn't the case. Sure, the Terk55 as well as some of the other omnidirectional antennas are good for some areas and they don't take up much space. But do yourself a favor and go out and get ya a nice Channelmaster or Radio Shack VHF/UHF, point it towards Riverview, and it'll do ya just fine. Still need help with CBS... bolt a small UHF only yagi up there with it and point that towards West Pasco.

And as far as "Monster" products.... my opinion, WASTE OF MONEY.
