View Full Version : Bug with Series 3 TIVO. Need your help.

Those folks that have a Tivo Series3 are probably not aware that you are not able to watch channel 16 (digital 34) using your OTA. Granted it is not a HD channel.

The problem is a bug in the TIVO Software. However, TIVO won't do any thing to fix it until more people call to complain about it. My case # is 6684719. I ask those that have the Series3 call TIVO (877-367-8486) and tell them you have the same problem.

How do I know its a bug in the software? When I first got the Series3, I was able to view the channels just fine. At that time, the version was 8.0.1c. I upgraded the hard drive and during the past few months the version went from 8.0.1c to 8.1 to 8.3. When the verison went to 8.1 the channels dissapeared.

I was hoping with the upgrade to version 8.3 this weekend the channels would reappear. Since they didn't I wanted to confirm that is was a software bug. So I put the original hard drive back into the Series3 with software 8.0.1c and sure enough the channels reappeared.

So again I please ask you to call TIVO and tell them you have the same problem as my case. It will be the only way they are going to look at the bug. And please let me know what your case number is..

I am seeing the same thing, on both my Series3 TiVos, even though the signal strength is good and I can watch the channel on other ATSC tuners in my house connected to the same antenna.

But... I don't feel like spending my time talking to TiVo for a channel that doesn't do HD. Just call and say you are me, if they ask for info you don't have, call me.

If anybody cares, I am working with TIVO to fix the issue. Hopefully this is fix it on a national level too.

With the new update to 9.1, Tivo fixed this problem on a national level.
