I was in the Brandon CC over the weekend and saw (3) Zenith 420 OTA receivers.....open box buys for $269. Is this a decent price or can I get a better deal somewhere else? Also, is CBS going to be just as difficult to bring in on and antenna in HD as it was on just channel 10? I'm just tired of dropping $65/month for cable, when my family really primarily watches network TV. Any help is greatly appreciated...

$269 seems like a great deal. I live in Ybor and with a Silver Sensor I can pick up all the HD channels easily. Your situation might be different than mine.
The good news is that CC has a very liberal return policy. I would buy it and try, and worst case you return it. Buy a good antenna at the same time. If you want to stick with an indoor buy a Silver sensor or one of the other antennas that people have had success with here.

Well I live in Clearwater, Florida and CBS is my easiest station to pick up. Oh and since you said channel 10 and figured it was the hardest to pick up I think you are thinking it is a VHF station. Well it "is not" a VHF station it is a UHF station. The only two stations that are VHF are NBC and FOX which are on VHF channels 7 and 12. All other stations including CBS are UHF channels 14 or higher.
You might want to check antennaweb.org and type in your zip to see all of this info. Just because CBS is channel 10 does not mean that it is VHF channel 10.
Edit....Oh and I use a Zenith SAT-520 which is the exact same box as yours but has DirecTV as well. This is the latest or latest enough OTA tuner technology in any box.

I live in Riverview and I am able to pick up all Hd signals(including CBS)with an RCA ANT200 indoor antenna I purchased at the Brandon CC. It was only $40. Like a lot of people, I had trouble picking up the CBS feed. I have it next to my Hughes HD receiver and it works great.

nice heads up on antenna.org....it will even show you a street level map of your address and the direction of the stations you want relative to your home.....very nice!
