If it was not for the CBS prime time line-up I would really have no need for this local station, ok football aside. Let me take that back I have the NFL ticket in HD. The decisions they make on a daily basis regarding thier news and weather updates is absolutely crazy. Ok we live in FL we all know we have bad weather. Give us the updates as needed but there is no reason to replace the HD Golf tournament on the last few holes with that ridiculus red border of a SD (poor at that) thumbnail size picture. Those national commercials and network sports updates in HD made it thru though!!!! It is no wonder that this station is a bottom feeder when it comes to the local market, they just ride the coat tail of the CBS prime time line up. Hell, even there national news with Katie is in dumpsters.

Upgrade your Chyron or Avid system or what ever you use for your graphics with HD capable solution!!!! or rethink your News Directors calls!!!

This stations should be in the 113 market place not Tampa!!!!

That's right.

And if that's not bad enough, their nightly newscast with Couric (still in SD) has a bad echo in the sound on HBN ch 610, unless you switch your A/V receiver away from 5.1 to 2-channel stereo.

Channel 28 does the same thing.
At the same time as the golf was on, basketball was in a small screen on ABC.

The worst kick in the head is when they go back to normal for the commercials.

I emailed the general manager of ABC, asking why if the warnings were important enough to destroy their HD signal, why it wasn't important enough to run during the commercials.

That's a good one, especially when you consider that, to the broadcasters, the programs are the filler material that separates the all-important commercials
