OK, I just noticed that we are all "Composite Video Stills". At what post count do we change titles? Every 50, 100, 500.....

Well, I just answered my own question, after 10 posts, I am now an "S-Video Out", WOW, don't I feel better and you know.....things do look a little clearer now.

OK, I guess Jaymer set this up (?). So...
Composite
S-Video
Component
RGB
Does that sound right? I assume that straight RGB would be better than the combined signals over Component.

hehehehe,
yes, i just did that late today around 6pm.
i think i should leave you guys guessing at when and what the next levels are for your new Rank.
Passedpawn has the right idea.

Jaymer's method (an ongoing investigation). Here are the titles, so far. Only Jaymer knows what comes next... and he ain't talking.
Verified:
Composite Still Out
S-Video Out
Progressive Out
Speculation:
Component
RGB

Is RGB a better connection than component. I have this capability on my HD Pioneer monitor but have not ever tried it. Perhaps something new to try. :D

Yes. This is the ideal connection. Everything else is an effort to combine video and sync signals on less conductors.
Does your RGB connection also have H(orizontal) and V(ertical) signals (i.e., are there 5 connections)?

I am not sure what you mean by 5 connections. The RGB connection is like the one for a video connection on a pc. A D-style plug that has 9 pins, I think

When it comes to HD the cable get really confusing there are 10 ways to do that same thing.
Basicly there are
RGB, also known as VGA. This is very common on computers, this is baicly RGBHV in one clean plug.
The most common is Y-Pb-Pr also known as Component. This is the three RCA cables that started to come on DVD players. This is the Same as RHBHV except that the H and V are synced on the Green cable.
RGBHV which is usually 5 bnc connectors but can also be 5 RCA cables that is the same as VGA except it is in 5 cables, instead of one. This is common on projectors, and some Mitsubish TV's but most TV's or STB's don't have these.
Then there are 3 digital but they aren't not relevent to this discussion.

Still wandering....

Does the pc type plug for RGB then provide a better signal transport than the component cables I am currently using ?? :?:

How many wires do you use w/your component?
If it's 5 then the 15pin VGA and 5 part component are the same, with the edge going to component for cable impedance matching.
If it is 3 then maybe I would use the VGA (RGBHV) input.

I use the 3 wire configuration for my component. Y,Pb,Pr. What is the 5 wire configuration? I am not familiar with that. I use toslink for the audio signal for the hardware that uses component video.

The I would use the 15 pin Dsub connection
