I grinded my teeth and went through all of last football season without it. No way I do it again this year. Can they hammer out a deal already? How is it FIOS has figured out a way to profitably add the NFL network but BHN cannot?

I'd hate to pull the trigger on BHN, but if there is no NFL network I am going to have to jump ship.

Let me tell you, as soon as fios opened up in my neighborhood three weeks ago I jumped. Everything I had with Brighthouse and thirty dollars cheaper too! PQ is fantastic. I was with Brighthouse for 10 years, no looking back now. BTW NFL Network ROX!

Longtime lurker occasional poster, how did you get it cheaper, I checked FIOS website and I would be about $50 more out of pocket with FIOS

I have
Roadrunner standard
digital HD with 1 HD receiver and 1 HD DVR
HD Pack
HBO
Showtime
Cinemax
three add. TV's with only standard cable

all for $120 a month

Back to original question, on Satalite guys forum it was posted today that NFLN will be on Tampa BHN shortly before season starts (posted by BHN employee)

they had guys going door to door. They asked me what I had with BHN and how much I paid. I told them I would'nt switch unless they beat what I was paying.

I had those guys come around a few months ago. For the exact package and equipment I have now, FIOS was going to be $150 out of pocket and $30 more per month. Plus I hear that they already have a price increase. FIOS is not for me.

BHN has been slow on the uptake when it comes to getting true HD going for Rays games so I won't hold my breath for NFLN.

Sheesh, I was beginning to think you'd never sign up to this Forum, Roger 9.

Looking forward to more of your posts!

Yeah, I'm here. Thanks for the greets.

I am pretty passionate about this HD thing with BHN and I want to stick it to them every chance I get now that I have had this "we'll pass it on" e-mail replies.

For a decade I never had a single bad thing to say about them but when I realize what I pay for (digital is target specific) and if you add HD and the upper HD plus box rental you're up to nearly thirty-bucks before taxes and fees.

I am thinking of having a special edition to my show just so BHN customers can vent, then send it to them and out great politicians here in FLA including our governor.

I'd like to know if anyone would be interested and if there are enough people I'll do it. You can either add to this thread or go to http://www.tbsnradio510.com and click on the "Contact" button along the top.

It is tough. I just got back from visiting my brother in Boston.
Not only do they have almost every HD channel available (including NFL) they have HD on demand standard.
Missed the Sopranos? Just flip to the On Demand HD channel.
They even have HD movies on demand for no extra charge.
Its like Bright House is in the stone ages.

Re: NFL, Bright House will do the same as last year, tell everyone they are working on a deal, the season will start, come and go, and no resolution.

That is why I pay for DirectTV during the season.

Assuming that Crist signs the pending "Consumer Choice Act of 2007" we'll see easier entry by competitors (including Verizon) in BHN's service areas. BHN will have to meet or beat the competitor's offerings (as well as pricing and service quality) to stay in business. I'm hopeful that BHN will be proactive and stay ahead of the competition, but in the end it is up to the consumer to vote with their pocketbook.

With all due respect I do not think that BHN will do ANYTHING proactive. Thet have to be dragged into things kicking and screaming and when they finally do, they pass along higher prices.

We're paying an extra $40.00 for MLB EI to pay for the building of the MLB Channel which won't be launched for two years so do you honestly think that BHN will grace us with the NFL Network without the extra cost coming from somewhere? They'll bounce up the digital price by about a buck per subscriber even though they will only have to fork over fifteen-cents.

And get it in HD? I'll probably be pushing up daisies by that time.

DRayDave, Sadly we don't have FiOS yet - last update was 8-12 months because of all the political stuff here in St. Pete - so I could be living in South Carolina before this happens.
