Still shopping for that new tv. Thought I wanted an Elite (rebate!!), then my head was turned by the new Sony GWIII and the Sammy dlp. Now they are all pretty much the same price at Sound Advice and I AM confused. I do like that eye-popping lcd picture in high-def football but am turned off by the lack of shadow detail. Turns out I don't notice any screen door from a few feet, and don't see rainbows on dlp. Please help. Gregg, do you think ISF calibration would help the lcd on shadow detail, or is it a lost cause? Thanks. John.

Adding a .3 ND filter will help reduce the over all light out put and thus give you "somewhat" better blacks. This is not part of an ISF calibration but something that I offer. An ISF gives you accurate color and gray scale by using the service menu of the TV (or if the TV has it - the user menu). The GW3 has a large amount of red push that is correctable via an ISF calibration.
Hope this helped?
