Don't know of any so far. Chase club, near Oldsmar, was reported to have Plasmas, although this does not mean there is a HD signal hitting them.

Anyone know of any places that are displaying HD broadcasts?

According to HD.net , Ledgends Bar and Grille on North Dale Mabry has an HD set to view HDNET.

I've never been there so I don't know anything about them.

Bilmar Station on West Hillsborough avenue just bought a Sony 41" WS and a JVC 52" WS HDTV. I am in close contact with the owner about getting them set up for HDTV (Consulting), I would guess that by the end of the week, it'll be all set up in HDTV, depending on his time availability and remaining budget funds. The owner also has NFL sunday ticket and 8 active DirecTV boxes with a ton of smaller SD sets around the place.

i used to hang out at Hubs Pub in Carrolwood, which then became Bilmar. Is this the same owner who opened this location, or is it a franchise store?

Please supply an exact address - this may work as our happy hour spot for the upcoming meeting.

Same owners, BilMar Which is Bill and Mary. I don't know if he stocked the other (Dale Mabry) bar with the TV's but I do know the one on Hillsborough ave has them. They are just not hooked up yet. I have to get in touch with the Bill about this issue. Hopefully it'll be resolved before the 2nd week of NFL.

I set up the A/V system at Barleyhoppers in Centro Ybor. They have two plasma's and a bunch of regular TVs running off of 13 DTV SD boxes. They also have a C-band 4DTV receiver, but it isn't used much. There is no HD equipment, and I haven't heard of any requests for it. I'm going to be installing 3 more TVs outside soon, so I'll ask the managers if there has been any call for HDTV, since they allready spent the bucks for the plasma. The JVC displays are 42", so I'm not so sure that HDTV would be a big improvement in a place that size.

I am going to Barley Hoppers tonight, I am going to order a beer and then ask if they have HDTV, when they so no, then I will say "Well I guess I will have to go home to watch the game then. :)

The restaurant Chapps in the Internation Plaza, has HDTV. They have about 15 40" Plasmas on th wall and two bigger screens(not sure what they are) I asked the manager and he says that they have Directv and they get the NFL Sunday Ticket and ESPN-HD.
I would assume they get HDNET, and the rest of the HD channels but when I asked I was just asking about sports.

The bar and lounge at the Tampa Airport Hilton on Lois Avenue has a plasma widescreen on the wall. I don't recall which brand.

For the record, the Chase Club (In Westchase actually) does not have plasma, or HDTV. I live right behind it :) They do have a large projection TV, but certainly not HD.

I recently installed BHN HD Pace boxes at Bilmar station (Town and country) and soon I believe the owner will be getting D* HD for football season.

As someone who frequents the many bars of tampa bay I know the following:
The chase club (which does not have A/C) has a very small plasma monitor in the back over the dart boards. Im have no idea why.

The green Iguana Ybor has at least 3 large HD tv's that i can recall

Champps in international plaza has at least 10 large flat panel HDtv's
Bilmar station (both locations) have a 60 inch JVC, which sometimes has an HD feed

Coquina Blue on Henderson has 2 and very limited bar space

Good Fellas has 1 65 inch hitachi i believe that sometimes carries a HD signal

Hooters Channelside has many flat panel and 1 large prjection tv

Leroy Selmons on Boyscout has a few flat panel Tv's, not sure if they use HD.

Thats all for now, I am sure i left a few out, but I will be sure to keep looking.

uhhh, could you also give us a rundown on Happy Hours specials and rate the pub grub at these places?

LeeRoy Selmons has had those monitors since they opened, but i rarely get way over there. I've never seen them invest in HD tuners for the,... what a shame.

I'm in there quite often, and I've never seen an HD broadcast on any of those TV's. Even during the Sunday night football games that are always broadcast on ESPN HD, they are showing regular ESPN.

That's because the average person who buys an HDTV thinks they're watching HD just because it says HDTV on their set. I'm sure many a bar manager falls into the same trap.

Beef O' Bradys on Bell Shoals Road in Bloomingdale has two 52" RCA HDTV's with Samsung HD receivers. He has the NFL Sunday Ticket and ESPN Gameplan. A lot of Ohio State fans gather there to watch the Buckeyes. Man, is that becoming painful! Anyway, it's true HD with great beer and wing specials.

Courtside Grille at Carillon (Ulmerton & I-275) is full of HDTVs. Plasma, front projection, crts, etc. Matt Geiger is one of the owners (local basketball pro, retired).
