All,
Following some discussion in another thread, I thought it would be a good idea to solicit your input on improvements to the Explorer 8000. So given that, please post your thoughts as to:
A) What the DVR should do that it currently doesn't; and
B) What is does that it shouldn't;
Just to steal a few of the obvious ones off the top to keep you all from fighting to post them, my initial thoughts are:
A) Should do:
-- HD (both display and record) This requires new hardware--soon I hope.
-- Allow for manual recording (the Passport version in Orlando does)
-- Record only "first-run" episodes if desired (no repeats)
B) Shouldn't do:
-- Miss, lose, screw up (whatever) programming
-- Run the HD 24x7
-- Latency -- slow to change channels
Here's the opportunity to have your voice heard.
One caveat: I live in Orlando, and my DVR is running Passport, not Sara. I haven't had the opportunity to play with the Sara version (I will ensure I do soon), so be sure to fully explain your comment.
One guarantee: I'll make sure the VP of Engineering (in charge of the software) and other appropriate people in BHN Tampa Bay see your comments. No guarantees beyond that however.
Ok -- game on...
