View Full Version : How long does it take to get FIOS after they start laying the cable?

They are just now starting to lay fiber in my neighborhood and I was wondering if anyone had estimates on how long it took for them to get FIOS after they started digging up the neighborhood.

It will probably depend on the size of your community. If I remember correctly, was at least a month for the Internet... it's been a long time for TV though. I'm the exception, not the rule. See my post at:

If you don't live in a sub-division and they are laying fiber down a main road in front of your house, you might have quite a long wait.

It is a neighborhood, but not a sub-division.
Seems hard to imagine we used to have neighborhoods without sub-divisions.
I live in Riverside Heights.

I still can't get DSL though it's been on my block for years now.

I'm equally distant from the thing in each direction and too far for it to work as verified on site by a tech.

I suppose I shouldn't hold my breath for FIOS, especially since I dropped Verizon in favor of Vonage through a BHN broadband connection.
