In general, any vhf antenna will provide a good result with fm for the suggested distance usage. The problem might be with an amplifier with an fm "trap". I'm wondering if you have a specific city in mind. Most of out area seems to be pretty accessible with relatively simple "T" antennas that come with a receiver or tuner. I have a RS omnidirectional FM antenna in my attic. It's easy to install and picks up all the area stations. If you are attempting to pick up something more than about fifty miles, you most likely will need a roof mount directional antenna, maybe amplified. The most you might expect with even a large, amplified array is no more than about one hundred miles. FM frequencies are between channels five and six on the vhf frequencies, by the way.

Actually, the FM band is between channels 6 and 7. VHF-TV Channel 6 can be heard on 87.7 if your receiver goes that low.

yup you are absolutely right. When I lived in Miami I used to listen to channel 6 on my car radio. Thanks.

I'm in Plant City, and I'd love to be able to pick up 104.1FM out of Orlando. But, I'm mainly looking for good clear reception on 99.5 since I'd rather listen to their spirited commentary during Buc's games than the boring stuff heard on the TV. So I just get a regular FM antenna and plug the coax into that, then the antenna into my receiver?
