Hi to all:

I just moved in to a new house in the MeadowPointe III development of Wesley Chapel. I am interested in recomendations for an OTA antenna(s) that will work well in picking up all the local Tampa Bay area HD signals and can be mounted in the attic. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I don't have recommendations yet, I am still waiting for BB to get the T165 in stock. I live in Wrencrest (MP II) and will probably see if I can get away with a silver sensor before trying attic mount.

Let me know what you find works best, I will let you know what works for me too.

I'm having pretty good luck with a ChannelMaster Stealthtenna with the built-in amp. It's in my attic in Carrollwood. I had it combined with a uhf yagi for channel ten in Pinellas, but found it works as well for ten all by itself and pointed to Riverview, probably because in my location channel ten is directly "behind" it. The Stealthtenna is a good compromise as it is small enough that it can be oriented in a small space. Your mileage may vary, of course.

Eventually, most HD enthusiasts will end up with a roof mounted antenna, or covet the other guy with one. There will always be that station out there... It is an evolutionary process, whereby you get the little antenna on the TV, then the one (or two) in the attic, then spend a weekend bolting one to the chimney. Next, you try diplexing several antenae together to get broadcasters from different directions. Then, spend a lifetime wondering how to get the antenna to the top of the pine tree in the backyard. OK, maybe that last one is just me.

Ham radio is the same way. You can easily locate the hammers by the giant whip (dipole) antennae on their houses.
