I went shopping for a couple of 27" TVs today, and was surprised how much the TV departments in CC and BestBuy have changed. There is a huge selection of various formats of flat and thin screen TVs, and the regular tube-type TVs have been kind of pushed off to the end of the department.
I was surprised that many of the regular TVs now have an ATSC digital tuner included, for not all that much extra money; SD of course. I hooked them up to a satellite receiver, so I didn't get to see how the tuner worked. I'm thinking of putting a rabbit ear on to see.

My parents bought one a few months ago and I was very impressed how well the QAM channels integrated and worked out of the box.
My parents can now watch HD downrezzed to SD on their new 27" tv.
I wrote about it here.

Hah, you write for Engadget from time to time? .. that's pretty damn cool,
Engadget's a fantastic site, congrats!
edit: wow, way more than time to time.. good job! As I previously said, Engadget rocks.. it's one of
the sites I hit daily. Engadget, Gizmodo... pretty much some great info about latest tech on a daily
basis (though honestly, some of the cable industry stuff they post is a bit wacky).

If I ever can, I'll definately help.. but 99% of the time when I know anything cool, you guys know about it 2 weeks before I'm allowed to talk about it.
But keep up the good work!
