Just got my Sammy 160 installed 27 Sep. for $399 special from DTV folks and having problems. Anyone else out there experience this? Software upgrade to .10 from .06 not working. Called Sammy tech. support, they say working with DTV folks for fix. I'm not sure if the software update will fix problems I have. I signed with DTV today for $7.99 month protection plan just in case this Sammy ends up being a lemmon! On the plus side the High Def. looks great! :D

I was not getting but 77% signal on c and b sat. The installers failed to tighten the dish brackets so they moved out of allignment. I adjusted and now get 98% on A,B,C sats. Guess what, after I did this the next automatic update worked with no problem! It must be problem with many installers not making sure they have the best alignment for dish, and make sure it is secure and re-check signal strength before they leave.

What kind of problems are you having? And what part of the Tampa Bay area do you live? I have DirecTV via the 160 as well and although getting everything tweaked was kind of a chore, I love it. I've heard from another recent DirecTV install that they (DTV) are not necessarly putting up the best OTA antenna and that the installers like to blame the Samsung for problems that actually stem from the antenna placement or quality. As far as the software update... I believe it will eventually take but it sometimes takes a few days or so.
