Hello all...I have been a frequent lurker on the AVS site. I just stumbled upon this one.

I found an offer on my door today from BHN. They are offering the Digital Value Package with all four movie channels for $46 ($85 with Roadrunner). I'm already a D* HDTV sub. I'm paying $88 for Total Choice Premier with locals.

My theory is to keep the minimum package on D* that I have to keep to retain the HDTV package, and use BHN for my regular channels. Does anyone know what the minimum package is that I would have to keep and how much it costs? I think it's $40, but I'm not sure.

Does BHN charge extra for their HDTV stuff? Even if there is some overlap in the packages, I may get an extra channel or two (INHD perhaps?). I should mention that I live in Riverview, so I grab the locals OTA.

EDIT...

I probably should have read the thread with the press release before I posted. So it looks like I would end up having to pay an extra $6 for INHD. That would mean it would cost a total of $56 per month for the Digital cable+premiums+"the HDTV tier."

Any red flags that I might be missing?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I got the same deal from BHN. I kept D* for sunday ticket, ESPNHD and HD.net.

The basic D* plan you have to have is $40.00.
You don't have to pay extra for the HD box it is the same as a regular digital cable box.

You will have to pay extra to get INHD1 & 2 $6.00 starting in a couple of weeks.

The plan works out well but I wish D* would just let you buy the HD package.

Be sure to add everything you want from day 1 or they might terminate your plan down the road if you try to add 1 channel.
