Just found this site and wanted to say hi.

I've been an HD nut for several years. 3 years ago I bought the Direct TV eliptical dish and Toshiba 56H80 HDTV anticipating many channels. Well I never upgraded my Directv box to recieve channels, waiting for HD STB's to come down in price...still not cheap enough yet. :?

Finally Time Warner added HBO & Sho digital and I got my HDTV! Before then I would just be happy with how good DVD's looked.

My next wishlist item, rumored to be produced next year, is an HDTV TiVo box with DirecTV. For now I just do alot of input changing with my MX-500 remote to watch TiVo recorded shows or live HD shows.

Always gotta have the new toys.

Actually, I'm new to this forum too (although I lurk and rarely post under the same name in the AVS forum). Funny that I also live in Palm Harbor and have a 56H82 HDTV. I got mine Dec of last year and just in time to watch the Bucs in the Super Bowl in HD.

I don't have the time or the inclination to deal with the OTA stuff so I'm a slave to BHN too. Frankly, once BHN gets NBC (now that they have CBS), I'll be pretty much a happy camper although I'd pay for ESPNHD.

Have you ever tried recording HD with your Tivo?
I record to my ReplayTV via my s-video, and I have to say it is better than SD, about the same as a DVD.
