Last night while watching the guardian there was *NO* sound comming out of center speaker. If I changed to NBC-DT or ABC-DT the problem went away, therefore it has to be a WTSP problem.
How do we let these guys know about their issue?

It has been like this on all CBS shows except football.
I think that the station is receiving 2.0 digital and passing 5.0 digital, which sucks since my receiver can't enable prologic on it since it is detecting it as 5.0
Someone should call the station.

Strange that I haven't noticed this. I will have to pay attention to tonight. If I notice anything I will give my contact a call over at WTSP (CBS).

I am watching CBS and noticing the same thing about no audio out of the center channel. Big difference in the audio from CBS vs ABC. I hope they are passing out dolby 5.1 and this is just a mistake they need to fix.

Ok.. the deal is that local CBS is giving us 5.1 however the source is only 2.0 so no one will ever get the center channel or rear channels. Local CBS is not missing the boat on this. Your receiver should only have output out of the right and left channel even though your receiver states 5.1. I have no audio problems with my receiver.

No problems here either. I kinda figured that's what it was. I like the thinking. That way when something does come down from the network in 5.1, WTSP is all ready to broadcast it. No local switch flipping.

This is exactly what I have been experienceing. The problem with is that I am unable to turn on Dolby prologic surround sound. Which means I am forced to listen to it in stereo.
It would be better if they only outputed 5.1 when they had 5 channels of sound. That way we could have the option of listening in stereo or in Dolby souround.

Wifey and I are regular CSI watchers. I have an Onkio TX-SV70Pro which does the Dolby Prologic, however I don't think it has 5.1 ability.
For me the center channel is ok. So now I'm wondering if there is a unit out there cable of doing both DB Prologic and 5.1. I will need to upgrade soon because the front lights of the AV are not working. I can't see anything in the display on the AV.

I have noticed that the SEC game of the week and NFL games in HD have center audio, but none of the tv shows do. I assume it's b/c CBS does push down any center channel audio nationally for these shows for some reason.
I will have to check AVS and see if this a know thing for these shows, sure would sound better if there was center channel audio for the 5.1
