Lightning TV schedule announced
Tampa Bay Business Journal
Sun Sports announced Thursday it will televise 70 Tampa Bay Lightning hockey games throughout the 2006-07 season, starting with the Bolts' first game Oct. 5 at Atlanta.
The schedule includes 36 home games at the St. Pete Times Forum plus 34 away games. Rick Peckham, Bobby "The Chief" Taylor and Paul Kennedy will return as Sun Sports' broadcast team for the games.
Lightning games will be available to cable and satellite TV subscribers throughout northern and central Florida. The network plans to enhance game telecasts with non-conventional elements such as added camera angles and microphones on players and coaches.
Additionally, Bright House Networks will offer 10 Lightning games exclusively in high-definition, or HDTV, format.
Along with the live Lightning games, Orlando-based Sun Sports will offer its "Lightning Ice Time" pre-game show and a weekly "Inside the Lightning" program.
