Well first pics of this are now posted over at DBS Talk. This is for the MPEG-4 reception. So lets see what deal D* comes up with to replace existing equipment especially since we are in one of the first DMA markets to get local HD.

Some people have already been upgraded in Detroit. It isn't costing them anything except an additional two years of comitment. Includes upgrading your HD recievers and Dish with installation.

They are calling people to ask them if they want to be upgraded. My understanding is that it is a don't call us well call you.

I would expect it to be availble in Tampa by the end of the month.
I might get an aditional HD reciever just to try it out. But will probably hold out till we find out if the HD DVR is as good as a Tivo.
