For the first time on Friday after over a year with FIOS BB (Wesley Chapel, FL), connections started dropping every 30min or so. Rebooting the wired DLINK router, would re-establish connection .. but it would drop again later. I called VZN on Friday to report trouble .. got a tech who did usual stuff .. reboot pc, reboot/reset router. An hour later, started losing connections again. Called back and reported trouble using automated system .. recording said a line test was run and 'it appears to be on our end' ... tech will troubleshoot and call back .. no call on Sat. Called again on Sunday, reported via automated system again .. I just kept rebooting router everytime it dropped. Called on Monday when rebooting stopped working (internet light was always on, even when connection was dropped). VZN contacted a tech that was already out, and he came within the hour to replace the router with Actiontec wireless router (3 times bigger than the DLINK, but was wireless, so ok by me). Internet dropped a couple of more times until this morning. It dropped and reconnected a couple of times, then router just went dead. Could not power back on. I then realized that the VZN tech replaced the router but used the power-pak from the DLINK .. he said they are the same (yeah, maybe). Used the power-pak that came with the Actiontec and router came back and stayed on .. no drops since this morning.
Long story short, if VZN doesn't see problem on their end, they will replace the router. Just make sure the power-pak is replaced, too. It was just the power-pak all along .. good router probably went to the 'heap pile'.
Still happy with FIOS BB.
