I noticed this on a game last week, too. I'm getting the stadium noise and music but no announcer. I'm watching the Pat's at the Redskins on WTSP OTA. When I switch to SD on Dishnet, I get regular audio. Commercials are normal audio on both....

Are they doing this on purpose or just a glitch?

Looks like they are switching back and forth between SD an HD. In HD there is no announcer audio, in SD they get normal audio.

Interesting...

Im getting same thing. I have the pace hd box and the explorer 8000 dvr in my living room. Video goes direct to tv audio through receiver. So i have my tv getting hd feed from pace and explorer 8000 is passing audio.

Seems to have same audio feed. same commercials and the cuts seem in sync.

HD audio seems to be working fine now.

yep, it's back now. I kind of liked it without announcers though... :)

On my system the only time I can't hear the anoncers is when CBS is only passing the 2 front speakers. As soon as they switch to DD 5.1 I can hear the annoncers. Which makes sense since the annoncers voices come out of the center channel only.

The other odd thing about CBS is during most of their primetime shows, my audio receiver detects DD 5.1 but only the right and left front channels have any sound. Which sucks, since I can't even turn on dobly prologic when the receiver thinks it's getting 5.1

on CBS via BHN cable, Pace Box,
the audio announcers during the 1st 15 minutes of the 1:00pm game were missing, and it made no difference here whether is was HD or SD.

The only thing better than NFL in CBS-HD
is NFL in CBS-HD with no accouncers.
I hate announcers especially during the FOX baseball playoffs.
It might only be a problem with this one game from this stadium this week. We'll find more as the week goes on I'm sure, but for football, I'd rather disconnect all 3 of my front speakers and hear only background field/crowd noise.

I noticed around 3:30 that even though the signal in in 5.1 DD (which is was not for me at the beginning of the game, 2.0 digital then) I would still hear announcers full blast in the left/right speakers, even though I had my center disconnected. It would be nice if they ONLY came in the center channel so a quick unplug of the center speak would mute them.
