I noticed it yesterday: 10 Weather Now
10-2 on my hd-tivo receiver.
Also identified as 10WxNow, it's very similar to the Weather Plus channel 8-2, except that it's tied into the Vortex computer imaging. My complaint is that they don't show a continuous radar image of this area. When I hear lightning, it was nice to be able to tune into the old 8-2 storm team-8 weather radar image and see where the storms are and what direction they are moving. The new images are only shown periodically, and are too condensed and rapid-fire to be of much use for local storm path info, unless you want to sit in front of the TV for a while to wait for the loop to play.

It's been transmitting for a couple of weeks now. I just haven't posted anything about it.

When they first turned it on, they weren't able to read anything on the screen so they turned up the bandwidth to it. That didn't help. Then it hit them, they are converting the channel from digital to analog back to digital for broadcast. That did it. They are now going stright to digital.

They are using a statistical multiplexer on both channels. But they have 10-2 set for 2mb. But some times the channel will use up to 5mb depending what is on 10-1.

During the CBS football game a couple of days ago. I was watching 10-2 and it was hovering around 2.1mb.

Tonight I noticed that they have added another digital sub-channel. It's info says it is WTSPDT2, and it's video is the same as 10WxNow.

I guess now CBS will have more pixellation on the football games?

They haven't added another channel. (Directv) Zap2it added 10-2 to the programing guide. What you see is your manual scan and Directv's guide.

It is really irritating that Zap2it can easily add the channels but take to long to remove them or shall I say correct them.. i.e. WFLA.

On my HD-Tivo, I went to the settings menu, channels, and cleared the local channels and then did a rescan for local channels. That got rid of the second 10-2 channel. Thanks for the tip.
8-2 and 8-3 still have the ID data reversed.
