Hi

I'm getting a new TV delivered today and it has a HD tuner built in. Is it worth the effort and expense in buying an antenna? I have Brighthouse HD right now so will I be gaining many channels?

On the channels I already have, is OTA better/worse/the same than cable?

If I need an antenna, any advice? I don't want to spend much and definitly don't want anything I have to put on a roof. Ideally something I can pick up at a local store so that I can wire all this up today before the TV comes.

Thanks in advance

You reception will depend alot on your location and suroundings.

The only channels you will gain bradcasting HD with an antenna is WB and UPN. WB is tough to get since they don't broadcast full power yet.

There are a few other channels that broadcast Digital but not in HD, that are not availbile on BHN as digital, like Pax.

As for an expensive antenna you can go with the popular Silver Sensor, which is hard to find at local retailers for some reason, but easy to find online. Or you can just use any old antenna you find.
You can go to antennaweb.org for help on finding the right antenna and on which direction to point it.
