Has anyone gotten the new Home Media DVR Verizon is offering? It states on the web site you can watch recorded shows on multiple TVs throughout your home (using a standard set top box). This way you don't need to rent multiple DVRs. It costs $19.95 per month vs. $12.95 for the standard DVR.

Additionally they stated you can install the free Media Manager on your PC which allows you to view slide shows and listen to music from your computer on the HM DVR TV.

Havent used it yet but I am going to order it. I did notice is can not stream HD so if you have multiple HD tvs you still need multiple DVRs.

Called to sign up today and the DVR media server is not an option in Tampa yet according to the rep. He said when it is there is no difference in equipment. We shall see they are coming Thursday.

This is from the Verizon Fios FAQ:
Does the Home Media DVR support HD programs streamed to the 2500?
No, HD programs can only be viewed on the DVR.

Will the HD convert to SD on the 2500? That would work for me.
Will HD be available someday from the Home Media DVR to a HD box?

multi room dvr bugs: (at my house)
many recorded programs will not fast forward on the 2500.
some programs could not be watched on the 2500 while being recorded on the dvr.
I am going with another dvr and cancelling the multi room.

I have had Fios (TV, Internet, Phone) for almost a year now. I got the multimedia DVR about 5 months ago. At first I thought it was great!!! I still like it and unfortunatly am VERY hooked. :)
... but...
I have found that at least once every two weeks my 2 regular set top boxes loose 'connectivity' with the Multimedia DVR and the only way to currently resolve this is to power off the DVR and Actiontec router. Then power them on and let them all resysnch themselves. This also happens with the Verizon multimedia jukebox that plays MP3s and shows pictures from a PC on your network, occasionally i have to restart that application to get the DVR to see the Multimedia Manager.
Has anyone had any of these problems? I have contacted verizon 'technical' support and the best they could come up with was the 'restart it all' process...

I've seen this discussed on the AVS forums and another work around was to bring up the VOD menu which was supposed to reconnect this.

Supposedly it is a known issue that is being worked on.
