I'm not sure if anyone even visits this site anymore but if anyone does, they might be interested to know that Dishnetwork has announced that starting tomorrow at their 61.5 location, they are adding 10 HD channels that were formally from the now defunk Voom and will be adding the full 3o channels by June. The E* jokes aren't so funny these days!

When I had Voom I tuned into this channel for about 30 seconds and the picture was so clear I had to keep myself from throwing up the chili dog I ate ten minutes before. If your gay you should be in paradise but if your straight you need a bucket.

Just for the record...I decided not to try voom because of the gay channel, and i was asking if dish had bought it as well for the same reason...I don't want any of my money going towards producing a channel like that...bravo is bad enough.

I've got to get my last quote in. If Bush has the balls as you say why isn't he in parts of Africa helping those people. Also I'm actually a republican and let me tell you this party isn't the republican party I knew many years ago that is for sure. People should read a history book and maybe learn something. The fact remains that this current party in power happens to be the very best I've ever seen at using "words" to their advantage. maybe instead of the DVI/HDMI/s-video things for your post count ratings, I should use the models of Scientific Atlantic receivers that BHN uses... I REALLY wish I could stick BDRAW with the SA8300-HD that he hates so much :)

BTW, since a few are checking out this thread, its a time to reflect over the last 2-3 years of HD in Tampa. I mean, is it just getting too commonplace now that HD is just a lot easier than before, and there's not much technical need anymore for local-type info? I've always said that if we were in another city (one where all the networks would have been on cable, or all the antennas were in the same direction) this site may not have even been needed. But I wonder if many of these things that have been issues a year and 2-years ago are just all too easy now - more installers with experience now, more antennas available, etc.

Jaymer - just wait until MPEG 4 comes out on both sat platforms I'm sure there will be more complaining and problems/gliches than you can count.

Let us not forget the addition of Ka satellite thrown into the mix...bigger ant upgrades and receiver swap programs ect...will also include more rain fade issues with Ka its the nature of Higher Frequency Sat Transmission

The higher the freq the more atmospheric problems will occur. I have been doing satellite transmissions for over 18 years everything from Spacecraft Ops to classified stuff and Ka and higher brings a whole new set of problems.

Also how is Echo going to handle the FCC mandate for reception on a single antenna for all channels, they have a alot of work to do to make this happen. I have not heard of any plans they have for this but probable will go with sat freq stacking in same orbit locations like D* is doing. They could also go the route of sat's alternating polarity stacking in orbit slots but that becomes another can of worms for the Antenna LNBF's to handle.

So I think at least the sat forum should stay busy for the next year or so....you BHN guys I am sure will find something to discuss or you can always discuss politics, relegion and pay check size or any of the other normally taboo subjects people like to discuss !!! :lol:

I'm sure more QAM/OTA Revievers/DVR's will come out and Media PC's upgrading to support HD we will have plenty to discuss. In addition to complinaing about the price to watch FREE TV. :)

Not that I could care less about what stations are available, I just don't understand why BHN or any other cable outlet has this "target specific" channel on the same tier as Discovery Kids, Disney 2, EWTN, Toon Disney, Noggin and Trinity.

Personally I don't watch any of them (give me SPEED and ESPN News) but this is BHN's way of cramming crap down the throats of customers when they want one thing, get another and have to pay for that privilege.
